Dental news – Newsletter – March 2017

Dental news to you!

It’s kind of hard to believe we’re already well and truly into the year with the beginning of March looming just around the corner.

Already things have been busy in our world, as we’re sure they have been for you too.

For a start, we’ve welcomed our new dentist, Dr Lauren Bolta. We’re excited to have Lauren on board because it gives us an opportunity to integrate new energy into our lovely team. We think having Lauren is a big plus for our patients who feel a female dentist might work for them.

We’re also delighted Dr Lauren’s joined us because of her enthusiasm for all things dental. What we mean is she is totally into dentistry.  Maybe even as much as Dr Mark.  We know, crazy, right?

Want to know more?  You can read Dr Lauren’s full bio here on our website.

Be sure you introduce yourself on your next visit. We know she’ll give you a wave!

Ever smiling! Our oldie (Ines) and our newbie (Dr Lauren) pausing for a quick photo.

Jenny's Farewell

For those of you who know Jenny, we know you’ll be sorry to see her go, but the good news is, we’re also bringing other new people into our team. Look out for our next newsletter because we’ll be introducing them too.

Apart from the year, what else is new?

CDBS

Changes have been made to the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS). From 1 January 2017  dental services were capped at $1000 over 2 consecutive calendar years.  The two year cap period starts when a child or teenager first receives an eligible dental service.

If you (or someone you know) qualify for the CDBS, this enables you to book your child’s six (6) monthly Hygiene Visit as these, together with regular flossing and brushing, are the best things you can do to help your kids keep their gums and teeth healthy. For Life.

You find more detail about the Child Dental Benefits Schedule here or call us at the practice and we’ll talk you through it.

Having a dental emergency?

With Dr Lauren now supporting Dr Mark and our Hygiene Therapists, Penny and Bridgette, we have ample capacity to service dental emergencies that arise – and let’s face it, they never happen at convenient times.

In these circumstances, we will always do our best to accommodate patients who are experiencing acute pain or trauma, so please call us if this happens to you.

Want to do what you can to avoid an emergency? Before the year gets too far underway, why not make an appointment to re-visit your dental goals for this year and beyond.

Start by calling (07) 5573-0188 to book your Hygiene Visit.
