Dr Lauren (Bolta)
Nickname: The Canuck (and we mean that in the nicest possible way because Lauren is our current favourite-relocated-to-Australia-Canadian)
Why we love Dr Lauren: Did someone say enthusiasm? Ah, yes. That would be Dr Lauren. You’ll know what we mean when you meet her. Dr Lauren is a 100 percenter. What we mean is she is totally into dentistry. Maybe even as much as Dr Mark. We know, crazy, right?
Her back story:
My pathway to dentistry has been a bit of a round trip.
From an early age, my mother and late father, who was a dentist, inspired the passion for dentistry in me by sharing stories of his professional work and positive dental experiences. This meant I grew up with really positive dental experiences and from very early I felt and knew dentistry had a lot to offer both dentists and patients.
Although I had other study interests, there was really no question for me about what I would do. This knowing was even clearer after my own experience of seeing the transformation that dentistry can have.
When I had braces, something lit up in me. I knew with certainty what I’d always felt: being a dentist is what I’m here to do.
What makes Dr Lauren tick?
For me it’s very much about connecting with patients.
I especially love the transformational aspect of dentistry. It’s not just about aesthetics, although it’s hugely satisfying on more complex cases to create an outcome the patient is truly happy with. More than that, it’s great turning a patient’s fear of the dental unknown into enthusiasm for the possibilities.
As a communicator, I really appreciate the feedback my patients share. The big one for me is hearing them say, “That was so much better than I thought it would be!”. You can literally see the relief on their faces and that makes it worthwhile.
One hundred percent.
